Carrigtwohill Business and Tidy Towns Inaugural Awards A Success

The nervous wait for many Carrigtwohill businesses and housing estates, to see who came out on top at the inaugural Tidy Towns and Business Awards, ended last Friday 24 November.
Held in the Cousins Home the awards are one of the largest of its type in the village, with the ceremony being a major feature of the community’s calendar.
During a glittering ceremony in front of an audience of more than 60 guests, the success stories of 30 companies and housing estates from across Carrigtwohill were honoured in 13 Categories.
Sarah Jane Cromwell Secretary of the Carrigtwohill business association said the joint awards evening was a “fantastic opportunity” to celebrate all that is great about Carrigtwohill and recognise the achievements of some of its leading businesses, both large, medium and small, additionally community groups that are doing outstanding work.
Best Large Housing Estate went to Fota Rock with second place given to Castle View
Small Estates: 1st Prize Joint, Ryan Ahern Terrace and Pearse Place
Cleanest Large shop front went to Centra
Cleanest Small Shop Front went to Blooms day
Special award for endeavour went to Kent Terrace, West End
Best Start Up went to Carrigtwohill Pharmacy
Best Innovation went to Bespoke Hairdresser
Community contribution went to Merk Millipore
Best Small Business went to William O’Brien butchers
Best Medium business went to Thai Irish restaurant
Best Large business went to Fota wildlife Park
Best Shop front went to Blooms day
Overall winner was Carrigtwohill Pharmacy
