Midleton Branch of Sherry FitzGerald O’Donovan Accepting Items for Cork Penny Dinners

The Midleton branch of Sherry FitzGerald O’Donovan real estate agency is currently accepting donations of items in aid of Cork Penny Dinners.
The real estate agency will accept donations of a large variety of items during business hours at its office on Main Street, Midleton until Monday, 4 December.
“We are accepting donations via our office on the Main Street up until [Monday] 4 December, when they will be delivered to Cork Penny Dinners,” said Clare O'Sullivan, Branch Manager of Sherry FitzGerald O'Donovan in Midleton. “We felt this is such a super, super local charity that provide an open door and a warm welcome to those that need support. We are grateful to be in a position to help people without this Christmas and as a result are delighted to accept donations on Cork Penny Dinners’ behalf.”
The list of items accepted for donation can be split into men, woman and children.
The list of men’s items suitable for donation include hot cups, biros, toothbrushes, toothpaste, moisturising cream, razors, combs, socks, underwear, vests, hats, gloves, flash lights, tents, umbrellas and sleeping bags.
Women’s items can include hats, gloves, underwear, deodorant, hair brushes, hand cream, face cream, toothbrushes, toothpaste, throws, hot cups and flash lights.
The list of Children’s items include scarves, hats, gloves, underwear, bobbles, hairbrushes, books, treats, pyjamas, baby wipes, baby grows, cardigans, vests, socks, nappies, Vaseline, Sudocream, and dummies.
If putting together a Christmas box, it is requested that the age of the child be placed on the box for both boys and girls.
Cork Penny Dinners aims to offer a hot midday meal to everyone who calls to its centre as well as providing sandwiches and fruit to take away as an evening meal. Currently the charity serves more than 1,000 meals a week, while also providing a warm and dry place to sit and eat said meals.
Cork Penny Dinners is primarily staffed by volunteers, with the organisation’s income stemming from individuals, companies, and local organisations, all of which also donate goods, products and expertise which allows for the continuance of the service.
