The switching on of Christmas lights in Youghal promises to be the biggest and best ever.
This Saturday 25 November there is plenty fun in store for the children also.
The East Cork harbour town will be overrun by Elves as Santa comes to town as part of the festive celebrations.
Having taken time out from their busy schedule Santa’s cheeky elves will be filling out report cards for the man in red and taking last minute letters from the boys and girls.
With over 3 hours of free fun and entertainment on offer the market square will be filled with music song and dance.
Between 2:30pm and 5:30pm join in the street party with Barty’s disco roadshow playing all the Christmas hits. Meet Olaf, Mickey Mouse and Minion characters.
The jolly old elf himself will be making an appearance on board the Youghal Fire Brigade.
From 3:00pm in Market Square you will have the opportunity to visit Santa in his grotto and receive a free gift and photograph, watch an array of street performers and listen to Christmas carols and there will be free face painting.
One lucky child will be drawn on the day from over 3,500 who entered a colouring competition to switch on the lights with Santa at 5:30pm.
And for the adults this Christmas, you can win thousands of Euro of cold, hard cash just by shopping local.
One shopper will win €2,000 in Youghal4all shopping vouchers, with a trolley dash also on offer to one lucky winner Christmas week.
Shoppers buying goods and services from businesses across Youghal will be entered into the free draw for the shopping bonanza, including a series of €100 voucher prizes.
