An event that aims to put books at the heart of children’s lives and promote literacy in young people is coming to East Cork.
This November some leading Irish youth authors will pay Midleton library a visit as part of its 2017 literacy event.
The event run in conjunction with the department of education will give children the opportunity to meet some of their favourite novelists.
The ticket only event plays host to Judi Curtin, author of the Alice series of books, Deirdre Sullivan who is responsible for the Primrose Leary trilogy, along with Dave Rudden children’s short story and poet, author of the Knight of the borrowed dark and the squeal the forever court.
Kieran Mark Crowley author of the Mighty Dynamo will also be in attendance.
The event will be adjudicated by Primary Literacy Advisor, Duncan McCarthy.

Confirmed bookings will not be accepted until closer to the time.
Meanwhile preschool story time will start again from Wednesday 20 September at 10am for 3 to 5 year old children, their parents and care givers.
