A New Place to Meet at Rendezvous Youghal

By Claire O’Donoghue

Nestled beside the historic Clock Gate and recently revamped Barry’s Lane in Youghal sits the newly opened Rendenzvous Bistro. Agnes Farkas, her husband Balazs and friend Zoltan Kerner are co-owners of the new eatery which opened on Thursday, 10 January. They have been getting great feedback after their opening weekend, and look forward to welcoming more locals and visitors. They are certainly swept up in the excitement building around town for the upcoming Ironman competition and, at present, the Operation Transformation buzz.

Speaking with The East Cork Journal, Agnes said, “We are in a fabulous location here on Main Street. Come the summer, if the weather is as good as last year, we’ll have tables and chairs outside on Barry’s Lane where customers can relax, enjoy some good food and watch the world go by. We want to offer customers all the menu choices they love and, at the same time, put our twist on some of them. We will cater to individual tastes as much as we can. In celebration of Operation Transformation, we have plenty of healthy options on our menu such as a tasty breakfast omelette, delicious lentil stew, grilled sea bass and a wide range of salads.”

The Bistro will be closed on Tuesdays but open every other day including Sundays, from 11am – 9pm. Agnes said, “As well as our Facebook and Instagram pages, we will be making full use of the wonderful Youghal APP. We’ve plenty of ideas for special offers in the coming weeks and will be delighted to offer our customers great value for money”.

Everyone at the East Cork Journal wish Agnes, her husband and chef Balazs and Zoltan all the very best with their new venture. Fantastic to see another new business open in Youghal!
