All New Cork’s Got Talent Plans in Motion

Curtain calls can almost be heard as preparations for the all-new Cork’s Got Talent get underway. The competition has broadened its horizons from previous years as “East Cork’s Got Talent” and has also doubled the winner’s prize money to €1,000.

Auditions will be held in the Midleton Park Hotel on Saturday, 9 March 2019 from 12noon to 6pm. There, the judges will choose 12 acts to continue through to the final on Saturday, 20 April at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Little Island. Ticket sales for the final, costing €15, have just got underway with almost 200 already sold. All proceeds raised will go directly to Down Syndrome Cork. For bookings, contact Mark O’Sullivan on 086 396 3263.

Judges this year include singer Jamie Stanton, Rob and Marian Heffernan, Pat Vogue, Blogger Shin Hayes, local Fashion Icon and Micro Blogger John O’Connell-aka Mouth of the South- and a special guest judge yet to be revealed.

Rocking the mic as MC of the event will, of course, be Mark O’Sullivan, aka MC Fanta, with co-host Ethel O’Connor. Speaking with The East Cork Journal, Fanta said, “This will be the event of the year. A sell out! Midleton Park Hotel has been brilliant and we look forward to the holding the auditions there in March. Due to demand for tickets to the final we needed a bigger venue, so the final had to be taken to the Radisson in Little Island. We’re looking for all types of dancers, singers or anyone with a special act or talent which they think could get them through to the final. So…..have you got the talent to win €1,000 cash??”

The only rule for entrants is that they must be aged between 10 and 99 years of age. Great plans are in store for the final, including an opening performance from last year’s winners “Imokilly Dancers” and the winners of Ireland’s Got Talent, “RDC”.

So, get ready to dust yourself off, polish up your act and present yourself at the Midleton Park Hotel on 9 March between 12noon and 6pm to be in with a chance of an amazing prize and the winning title of the new Cork’s Got Talent.

Tickets go on sale on Wednesday 12 December, and there are already 196 tickets gone!
