Youghal's Sinéad Kane was only a very young schoolgirl when Cumann na Daoine was born in the seaside town. This week, the Youghal Community Development Project & Resource Centre is celebrating their 20th birthday and have issued an invitation to the public to join with them on Saturday next, 22 April at 2.30pm to mark the special occasion. Sinéad, having made her own impact on the world, was delighted to pop down to officially launch their celebration week.
Speaking with The East Cork Journal Dolores Corcoran, Chair, said " The invite is for everyone who has volunteered, worked, participated in, or tutored training courses; those from other organisations or services who partnered with us, and all who called in over the years to access information". Dolores went on to say that "the invite is also open to all clubs, groups, organisations, charities, business owners, etc., who may wish to know what we do, and what we have done for our town, and the people of Youghal, over the past 20years.
We would also be delighted to see anyone from the Youghal and surrounding areas who may be curious or interested in volunteering on the many varied committees, and our celebrations on Saturday will give them the opportunity to learn and hear more about Cumann na Daoine.
