Animal Rescue Cobh (ARC) hold their first fundraiser of the year with a table quiz this evening, Thursday, 23 February.
The table quiz commences at 8.30pm at the Ballynoe Inn, Cobh and marks the launch of the animal welfare/rescue group’s fundraising campaign for the coming year. A table of four will cost €20 with the proceeds going to ARC.
“It is our first one of the year,” said Ann Scriven, treasurer of Animal Rescue Cobh. “There will be tables available on the night. We don’t know how many people will be there until they are there but we hope to have some good support. The more that come the better. We have 12 cats and kittens currently in our care and our vets bills are just over €2,000 now.”
There will also be a raffle at the event. “We have plenty of good prizes like a school hamper, a men’s hamper and a women’s hamper,” said Ms Scriven. “We also have an Irish beer set. We made the hampers ourselves and some other prizes like the beer set were donated. There are only so many places in town and they can’t sponsor every event so we put some prizes together ourselves.”
ARC’s second planned fundraiser of 2017 is its Bring and Buy which takes place on Sunday, 23 April at 3pm again at the Ballynoe Inn. ARC will accept donations of a wide range of items from household items and small furniture to electrical equipment and general bric-a-brac. Anybody who wishes to donate items for the event can contact ARC by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by messaging the group on Facebook.
