Argentinian Pony to walk in Youghal BarkforArc Fundraiser

by Denise FitzGerald

Benny, an Argentinian Pony and Ruby, a Cork Retriever are the latest to sign up for the BarkforARC Fundraising Walk in Youghal which will be held on Sunday, 27th August. During a live radio broadcast on Friday last, Pat Daly was delighted to confirm that he will be walking with his eleven year old Pony, Benny, to help raise funds for the very worthy cause. "He is a gentle, amiable and friendly pony" Pat told The East Cork Journal, "and we are looking forward to meeting the many dogs who will walk with us on the day!"

Organised by the Friends of Cork ARC Cancer Support House East Cork & West Waterford, the Fun Dog Walk is set to be a great day out for all the family and funds raised will benefit the work of the Cork ARC Service at 29 Friar Street in Youghal. Open every Wednesday from 10am to 4pm, the cancer support services available include a Drop In Centre, telephone support, Counselling, Therapeutic Massage and Reflexology. Information workshops are being organised for the Autumn of 2017, and services are available free of charge to all those affected by cancer in the community.

Entry for the BarkforARC Walk is €10 and Sponsorship cards are available in Youghal from Coleman's Butchers, The Strand, Tom Scott's Shop on North Main Street, or from Tina O'Driscoll on 087 9127012.

The Fun Walk will commence at 2pm in Green Park and everyone is welcome to join in - whether or not you have a dog or an Argentinian Pony!
