The Ballinrostig Vintage Club welcomes any and all vintage vehicles for their Spring Road Run Sunday 22 April. Registration will take place at 12pm at the Aghada Community Hall at a cost of €20 per vehicle. The cavalcade of tractors will then set off from the gall at 1pm along the Coast Road to Whitegate, Roche’s Point and back to the community hall again for some refreshments. The vintage car run course will be heading to Crosshaven and taking in the lovely surroundings of the area. Come along and support and get your photo taken with the many fabulous vintage classics on that will be on show. There will be a prize of a glass plaque for the best turned out vehicle on the day.
The members of Ballinrostig Vintage Club have been wonderful advocates of local charities and institutions, revving up both support and fundraising. At their annual dinner dance last October, they presented over €7,000 between Midleton Hospital, Marymount Hospice and the Autism Unit at Aghada National School. In the 10 years since their formation over a pint in 2008, the club has raised almost €60,000 for charity. What a fantastic way for enthusiasts of vintage motors to showcase their passion for these vehicles while being able to contribute to such worthwhile causes.
