Ballinrostig Vintage Club is holding its Annual Field Day this Sunday, 2 July.
The Vintage Club’s Annual Field Day will be held in Ballinrostig from 1-6pm with the field itself signposted from the village and parking will be free. Entry for adults is priced at €5 while children’s admission is free of charge.
Ballinrostig Vintage Club celebrates its ten-year anniversary this year by hold holding its Field Day in conjunction with the Munster Sheep Dog Trials, which begins at 11am, with both events hosted by landowner John Pope.
The Field Day kicks off at 1pm and will feature a plethora of activities including displays of vintage cars, tractors, bikes, trucks and stationary engines, trade stalls, the Munster Sheep Dog Trials, human foosball, sheaf throwing, music, a tractor race for the Pat Hickey Memorial Trophy and children’s activities such as a barrel train, face painting, a treasure hunt and more.
Broomhill Vintage Club, who hold all-Ireland titles in tractor building, will travel form Coachford to show the audience how they can dissemble and then assemble a tractor within six minutes.
Music will be provided by the Bride Valley Boys with a dance floor will also being set up, while refreshments will be available throughout the day.
Proceeds raised from the day will go towards the Vintage Club’s end-of-year cheque presentations to Marymount Hospice, Midleton Hospital and other local charities.
