The members of Ballinrostig Vintage Club have their sights firmly set on their annual Spring Road Run. The event takes place this year on Sunday, 28 April. All participants are asked to gather at Aghada Community Centre from 12noon on. Organisers say that the local Mass Service will still be on at that time, and advise that plenty of time be given to arrive without getting caught up in local traffic. Stewards will be placed around the village to direct vehicles coming from outside the locality, so please heed their instructions.
The tractor section of the Spring Road Run will be in and around the parish, heading off in the Cloyne and Saleen direction. The cars will be going further afield towards Youghal and Lismore. Refreshments will be served at the start and finish of the Run and all are welcome to come and enjoy the fun.
Speaking with The East Cork Journal, PRO of the Ballinrostig Vintage Club Denis O’Driscoll said, “There will be prizes for the best vehicles, and each registered participant will receive a gift. We will also have a photographic display of our recent events. Hopefully the sun will shine and it'll be a great day. All funds raised from the Spring Road Run and all our events during the year, will be donated to local, worthy causes at our annual dinner dance at the end of the year.”
