On Wednesday night last, dog owners brought Man's Best Friend along to The Holy Family Church Hall to support Cork ARC Cancer Support House-East Cork and West Waterford- located in Youghal, in their fundraising efforts for the very worthy charity. The dogs were of all sizes, shapes and pedigree and were very well behaved as Champion Hunt Jockey, Davy Russell, officially launched the BarkforARC fundraising Dog Walk which will be held in Youghal on Sunday, 27th August.
Speaking with The East Cork Journal, the organisers said that the Fun Dog Walk will commence at 2pm in Greenpark "and everyone is welcome to join in, whether or not you have a dog".
Open since May, Cork ARC Cancer Support House-East Cork & West Waterford- is located at 29 Friar Street, Youghal and all services are available free of charge, including a range of psychological supports for cancer patients and their families living in the communities of East Cork and West Waterford. People affected in any way by cancer are warmly welcomed to the Centre on each Wednesday between 10am and 4pm.
You can help this wonderful local East Cork/West Waterford facility by supporting the Fun Dog Walk. If you cannot participate yourself, please sponsor one of the walkers or donate to the fund. There are very few families who are not affected in one way or another by Cancer, and the Dog Walk is just one way in which you can contribute to the Youghal based Cork ARC Cancer Support House-East Cork and West Waterford.
So Please! Take the leash and lead the way for Cork ARC Cancer Support House.
