The third annual Blue Light Regatta takes place this Sunday, 7 May to raise money for the East Cork Rapid Response and Whitegate Rowing Club.
Hosted by and at the Whitegate Rowing Club the Blue Light Regatta will combine a family-orientated fun day and a series of races, both competitive and non-competitive, culminating the competitive Blue Light Boat Race between teams from different emergency services.
“We are almost at the end game now,” said Austin Cleary, Chairman of Blue Light Boat Race Committee. “We are starting at 1.30pm on Sunday with the races starting shortly thereafter. We are aiming to put on a fun-filled afternoon for crews and bystanders alike. We are having activities for younger kids as well as the exciting races going on in the water. We are going for a good, fun, family-oriented day out that is open to everyone. We will have food and beverages for sale but there is no entry fee for coming along and viewing.”
