Breaking the Silence Cobh shortlisted for the Lord Mayor award

Breaking the Silence Cobh has been shortlisted for the Lord Mayor’s Community and Voluntary Awards, the winners of which will be announced at City Hall on 31 May.
Breaking the Silence Cobh were nominated in the Health and Well Being category of the annual Lord Mayor’s Community and Voluntary Awards and will send four representatives to City Hall for the ceremony at the end of May.
“We were nominated by a couple of different people,” said John Mansworth, Chairman of Breaking the Silence Cobh. “Sinéad Sheppard, the Fine Gael Councillor in Cobh, was one of them. Darragh Fleming was another. He previously started a petition to get mandatory mental health training into secondary schools. He was Impressed with what we do and put us forward as well. We would like to thank Darragh and Sinéad for nominating us. It is our 10th anniversary this September so we also really want to thank the people of Cobh for supporting us these 10 past years.”
