Children cheering, and a big warm Youghal welcome was extended to Bumbleance, the Children's National Ambulance, as it arrived at the gates of the preschool, Tír na nÓg, aptly translated as 'Land of the Young'.
Driver, Paul, was pleased to give the captivated children a tour of the Ambulance, showing them all the different equipment they had on board, which makes the children travelling in Bumbleance very happy and busy on the journey. He was also delighted to receive the DVDs, Books, IPods, IPads and games which had been collected and donated by parents and teachers over the past few weeks to help the wonderful cause.
Eileen Kenefick, speaking with The East Cork Journal, said it was the brainchild of teacher, Mags, and they were delighted with the response which they received to the fundraiser. Eileen thanked all who donated the gifts "which", she said, “will be a great asset to any child needing to use the Ambulance".
