Cork Young Filmmakers Academy want to unleash your child’s inner Spielberg.
From Wednesday 1 November to Thursday 2 November the Cork Film Centre will run a Winter boot camp at My Place Youth Centre Midleton, for teenagers aged 13 -19.
The course part funded by Cork County Council and South East Cork Area Development (SECAD) is run by the Cork Film Centre.
The programme is designed to develop confidence in young film makers, in acting, writing and directing.
Youth Development Officer, Mary McGrath who is co-ordinator for this year’s event says “it’s all about having fun, learning new skills, building confidence, encouraging creativity and self-expression.”
Over the two days students will learn the tools of the trade from industry experts, Chris Hurley, director of the Cork Film Centre and film manager Max La Cain.

Day 2 will be all action! A full day devoted to the shooting of a short digital film, giving participants the opportunity to experience the film making process in more depth. All films will be premiered on the big screen at an exciting Film Gala event hosted by Cork County Council on November 24th at Vertigo, Cork County Hall, Cork.

The only charge is a €20 registration fee.
