What started as a simple fundraising project by one wedding photographer has snowballed into a collaborative effort from a further 7 wedding suppliers, including RTE and 96FM Comedian Ross Brown, who have all rolled in behind a campaign to raise vital funds for Breast Cancer Ireland (BCI) during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
With just a few days left to enter (closing date Midnight Sunday 12th November), couples or friends of couples due to be married can enter a competition to win over €3000 worth of wedding necessities and goodies, by simply donating €4 to Breast Cancer Ireland at a dedicated donation page, www.idonate.ie/WeddingCompetition (all money donated, with exception of hosting fees, will go directly to BCI). For every €4 donated, someone will receive a ticket into a draw to be held on Monday 13th November, however for every €10 donated, the entrant will receive 3 tickets.
Agnes Stodolny, principal fundraiser and owner of Bracket Studio Photography, started the fundraising campaign having become touched by how many relations and friends of couples were affected by Breast Cancer. Launching the competition Agnes said, ‘We become such good friends with couples through the whole wedding process and so often they open up to us about issues in the wider family, and too often we were hearing about cancer or breast cancer and we felt we simply had to do something to help.’ Agnes was then delightfully surprised to find other suppliers felt the same way as she was soon contacted by others in the industry to offer their services to the prize and the total value now tops and amazing €3000+ . Agnes,’ I’m simply blown away by the generosity of so many people in the trade, from Katie Mythen at Cool and Co., to the scintillating Tracey Desmond at Trace of Cakes, to RTE Comedian Ross Brown, who has recently started a wedding entertainment arm to his creative portfolio and so many more. And of course if any other suppliers would like to get involved, they’d be most welcome!’.
Ross Brown was equally glowing, ‘You know I got married to the most wonderful, captivating woman not too long ago and weddings are just such fun, so full of joy and I realised that it would be fantastic to be part of many such days, that’s why I’m going to bring my unique style of fun to weddings through ‘Plus None’. And in fairness I couldn’t start without lending my support to this wonderful fundraising drive, let’s hope we can raise a lot of money for BCI!’.
So apart from winning your wedding photography from Bracket Studio, your invitations from Cool and Co, your wedding cake from Trace of Cakes, your wedding car from Absolute Wedding Cars, your candles from WeddingCandles.ie, your hen party goodies from HenParty.ie and your décor from Cork Wedding Décor, your guests can be tickled to the bone by RTE’s Ross Brown and his new entertainment enterprise, ‘Plus None’ and all these can be won by simply donating €4 to Breast Cancer Ireland at www.idonate.ie/WeddingCompetition .
Agnes pleads, ‘Everyone knows someone getting married or will at some stage, so we’re asking them, for less than the price of a drink at a wedding, just €4, to donate to this incredibly important cause and help make a difference for all the breast cancer warriors out there and make a bride smile from cheek to cheek!’.
