Carrigtwohill Business Association First Expo and Family Day Coming Next Week

By Alan Sheehan

Carrigtwohill Business Association is holding its first Business Expo and Family Day next weekend on Sunday, 8 October.
The Business Expo and Family Day will be held at the Carrigtwohill Community Centre and will run from 12-6pm.
The event, organised by Carrigtwohill Business Association (CBA), hopes to combine a fun community-orientated event with an opportunity for local businesses to acquaint themselves with those in the community.
The Family Day will feature kids’ refreshments and activities including face painting and a magician. Live music will be played by a DJ and adults can enjoy a pig on a spit or browse the stalls from the local farmers market, or the local business exhibitors. The day will also feature giveaways of prizes.
“The Carrigtwohill Business Association is holding a family day and expo,” said Conor McCarthy, Public Relations Officer for CBA, “to allow local businesses to engage with the local community. People might know of the business, but they maybe might not know what it is they do, or sell, or they might not know about their special offers. It is an opportunity for them to put their businesses out there while putting on a big entertainment day for the community. We hope businesses can tap into that and engage with the local community.”
Approximately 100 exhibitors will attend the event, which will include a large marquee placed at the community centre. Businesses can book a 10-foot-by-10-foot cubicle to exhibit themselves on the day by applying to the CBA.
A cubicle is priced at €100 for those who are currently members of the CBA and €200 for non-members, while a cubical for the day and a six-month membership to the CBA can be purchased for €175.
Those wishing to book a space at the first Business Expo and Family Day should contact Mr McCarthy by email at or by phone at 087 915 8218.
