Construction crew working on the Castlemartyr Village enhancement scheme have been recognised for their hard work and dedication to their job.

Recently The Castlemartyr Family Carers and Disability Support Group Made a presentation Mike Fitzgerald of O’Callaghan construction, the Contractor for the €3million village enhancement scheme.

The scheme includes tactile paving new Traffic lights and a pedestrian bridge, which is to be lowered into place across the Kiltha river next month.  Pedestrians in the village often ran the risk of being run over by vehicles as there were few crossing points along the busy N25 until now.

Liz Maddox and Patrick Delaney who represented the group at the presentation said the crew’s tireless work in extreme weather conditions has helped make “the lives of the Elderly disabled so much better accessibility into our village from the East side.”
