Celebrate Valentine’s Day this year in aid of Cancer Research at the annual Breakthrough Cancer Research Valentine’s Ball on Saturday, 10 February in Fota Island Resort, Fota Island. Funds raised at the black tie event, now in its 28th year, go directly to cancer research.
The evening, which is one of the Breakthrough’s signature fundraising events, will be hosted by broadcaster Jonathan Healy, with musical entertainment from the Pat Fitz Band and comedian Joe Rooney.
Orla Dolan, CEO of Breakthrough Cancer Research states, “We are always so thankful for the support for this event. The funds raised from the Valentine’s Ball go to our cancer research programmes which focus on finding more effective and less invasive treatments for poor prognosis cancers such as ovarian, pancreatic and oesophageal. The Valentine’s Ball is one of our favourite events of the year and Fota Island Resort is such a wonderful setting so we are delighted to be returning this year and look forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones too!
