The annual Garden Fete fundraiser in aid of Cobh Community Hospital takes place this Sunday, 6 August.
The Garden Fete will once again be run out of the Cobh Community Hospital grounds from 2-5pm and will offer an assortment of quality goods and produce with all proceeds going towards the hospital.
“Everything raised at the Garden Fete will as always go towards the ongoing development fund and towards the daily support of the hospital,” said Toddy Stafford of Friends of Cobh Hospital. “We are looking for support; everyone is welcome to come along to the event and enjoy the day. It is usually well supported. What has been popular in the last few years has been the tea and cakes in the garden. We will have a cake stall, jams, chutneys, bric-a-brac, a spinner stall and more.”
As well as an assortment of stalls, the Garden Fete will also feature raffle draws. Donations of sellable unused gifts, plants, cakes, fruit and vegetables would be greatly appreciated and can be delivered to the hospital’s back gate on Saturday, 5 August or the morning of Sunday, 6 August.
“It’s our annual event taking place in the hospital grounds,” said Toddy Stafford of Friends of Cobh Hospital. “The Fete itself has been running for over 30 years,” said Mr Stafford. “It is usually well supported. We would like to acknowledge the support of local community and the shops for letting us sell our tickets there and for donating prizes to us.”
