Cobh Councillor Elected As Chair Of Cork County Council’s Southern Division

Councillor Cathal Rasmussen has been elected as Chairman of Cork County Council Southern Division.
The Labour Cllr succeeds Fianna Fail Cllr Bob Ryan who is taking on a new role as chief operations manager at the new Pairci Chaoimh.
Cllr Rasmussen was nominated by Fine Gael Cllr Sinead Sheppard and seconded by Fianna Fail Cllr Seamus McGrath at the Southern Committee meeting on Monday 17 July.
As there was no other nomination for Cathaoirleach, Cllr Rasmussen was deemed elected.
Cllr Kevin Conway was elected vice chair. The Independent Cllr was nominated and seconded by his fellow Independent Cllrs, Cllr Mary Linehan Foley and Cllr Marcia Dalton.
