Cobh/Glanmire Municipality Councillors have questioned why the district has not been included in a recent rent pressure zone announcement, despite high rents being sought in some towns in the borough.
The rental pressure zones launched by the Minister for Housing Simon Coveney last year, are designed to restrict rent in high pressure areas.
Under the scheme landlords can only increase rents by 4% each year for three years.
Twelve Local Electoral Areas spread across Cork County, Galway City, Kildare, Meath and Wicklow were designated pressure zones.
