Cobh Peoples Regatta are once again working to put together a professional fireworks show for the finale of this year’s three day event.
A quintessential part of East Cork life, the Regatta has drawn crowds to the Harbour Town for generations.
A Regatta Fun Day Fundraiser is being held on Sunday 23 June at the promenade in Cobh between 12noon and 6:00pm to raise much needed funds for this great event.
Kids will be able to hop on board the big red fun bus for some active and imaginative play, and there will be live performances on the band stand from The Marina Melodies, Code Red and Cobh Trad Group, Finnegan’s Gaels.
Entry is free but the public is encouraged to give generously to the bucket collectors on the day.
Regatta PRO Sarah O’Connor said “based on community input, the Committee aims to bring a bigger and brighter fireworks display to the Lower Harbour, giving some extra bang this year.”
From 16, 17 and 18 August Cobh will turn into a yachting and rowing mecca for three days as sailing and rowing enthusiasts, along with thousands of spectators, will descend on the town.
Ms O’Connor said there’s more to the three day event than just sailing and rowing, and there will be plenty to keep people entertained, including live performances on stage on all three nights, and kids entertainment on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.”
A Monster Fireworks Display on Sunday night will bring a bright glow to the end of the 2019 Festivities.
