Colette Barry, Midleton and Area Chamber New Business Development Manager

By Claire O'Donoghue

Midleton and Area Chamber has appointed local Colette Barry as their new Business Development Manager. Ms Barry brings a wealth of knowledge to the table, having 18 years of experience in Senior Management roles at the Smurfit Kappa Group and PCH International, specialising in marketing and communications. Colette holds both a Bachelor of Commerce from UCC and a Masters in Marketing Management from UCD Michael Smurfit School of Business.
Colette will have a very busy start as she gets to know all the existing Chamber members and sits down to discuss their combined business strategies as they work together in the future. Speaking with Colette she said "Members can expect a call from me over the coming weeks. Increasing Chamber membership is my top priority, and I plan on doing that by increasing our membership offering. The more members we have in the Chamber, the greater the opportunity there is for our members to network and promote their businesses. We will hold monthly member meetings at which new members will be given the opportunity to introduce their business, and network with existing members".
Midleton and Area Chamber has found a great ally in Colette Barry, as it continues to promote and develop the economic and commercial activity of East Cork. President of the Chamber, Stephen Belton said "Colette is a great addition. She's full of energy and ideas to make the Chamber tangible for people". As someone who likes to "get things done" she is exactly the person needed to help members make the most of the Chamber. Mr. Belton added "we are delighted to have Colette on board, continuing the work of her predecessor Andrea".
Ms. Barry will be presiding over her firstly members meeting on 26 April.
