Community Invited to enjoy a Host of Fun at Midleton Educate Together Summer Fête

By Seamus Whelehan

Midleton Educate Together are making final preparations for their annual Summer Fête which will be held this Saturday, 8 June.
One of the biggest celebrations in the school calendar, the fête has previously seen large numbers come through the doors of the Primary School on the Mill road.  Held in the school grounds between 1:00pm and 4:00pm visitors will enjoy a whole host of activities including face painting and bouncy castle.  There will be a number of craft and cake stalls run by the school, including a yard sale and raffle.
Organised by the Midleton Educate Together Parents Association it is hoped that the school will raise €2,500 for Science and GAA equipment.  Roland Ramsden, Parents Association said “because the school is continually expanding we need to fundraise on an on-going basis.”
Since its establishment in Midleton ten years ago the Educate Together has grown from 20 pupils to over 500 students attending from as far away as Youghal and Fermoy.  Mr Ramsden said this weekend’s event is as much a community celebration as a school fun day.
“It’s nice for people to see the school, know who we are and what we do. Maybe people are contemplating sending their kids here.”
