Final To Take Place on Saturday 20 April at the Radission Blu, Little Island

Over 80 hopeful acts took part in the Cork's Got Talent Open Auditions in the Midleton Park Hotel on Saturday, 9 March, coming from all over the County to vie for one of the thirteen places up for grabs in the Final. Speaking with The East Cork Journal, co-host Ethel O’Connor said, “It is unbelievable the amount of talent there is in the County. What I loved especially is the confidence of, in particular, the young people auditioning. The judges deliberated for ages-it was like the Eurovision! With all the show stopping talent on show, though, I really think the judges have chosen the right finalists after all their debating. I'm really excited for the final now. The competition is wide open, it's anyone's game, which makes it all the more thrilling.”

Mark O'Sullivan, better known as MC Fanta, said that while tickets for the final are getting scarce there are still a few available. The final will take place in the Radisson Blu Hotel in Little Island on Saturday, 20 April. Tickets are just €15 and can be booked by contacting Mark on 086 396 3263. “We've done a lot of work with production”, Fanta said, “to make sure that no matter what seat you're in for the final, you'll have a great view of the contestants. There will also be a monster raffle with some fantastic prizes and each ticket sold gets a goodie bag as well. It's all in aid of Down Syndrome Cork and Karen, from their fundraising office, will be there on the night.”

John O'Connell aka “Mouth of the South” was one of the judges for the auditions and he said to The East Cork Journal, “Well shut my mouth, but down here in the south, I'm gobsmacked by the terrific talent in Cork! I'm so delighted and excited for the final where my new role will be judging the Best Dressed Man and Best Dressed Lady. There are some super prizes for those winners so let your own style shine for a great cause. #ShareTheJourney #CorksGotTalentBoy!

All eyes are now firmly fixed on the final on 20 April when one lucky contestant will walk away with the title of Cork's Got Talent 2019 winner and €1,000 prize money.
