Gaelscoil Choráin presented a cheque to the value of €300 to local ‘Daffodil Day’ volunteers as a mark of solidarity to all those affected directly and indirectly by cancer. Príomhoide Caitríona Ní Riada complimented the wonderful and tireless work done by the Irish Cancer Society and that of the thousands of volunteers on ‘Daffodil Day’. The children in the school are currently working on the theme of empathy as part of their newly introduced care programme and their empathetic skills were very much to the fore on Friday when they donned a little or a lot of yellow in support of those affected by cancer. Their motto for the month is ‘walk a day in my shoes’ or ‘siúl lá i mo scáth’ as gaeilge.
