A Bake Sale to help make Hospitals more fun places for sick kids, took place in Dealz, Main Street Midleton on Friday, 12 July.
For almost a decade the East Cork store has been supporting the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the National Charity of choice for the discount stores.
Each store runs an event to raise funds for the Foundation whenever they can during the year.
Last year the Midleton shop raised €12,000 for the Children’s Charity, who receive no Government funding.
Since 1992, the Children’s Charity has granted wishes for over 2,000 children, relying only on the generosity of the public.
Laura O’Keeffe, Dealz Midleton, said she can see the positive effect which Make-A-Wish can have on a child’s life, creating long-lasting and happy memories for the child and their relatives, whatever the future may hold. “There are a few kids who use the store who have benefited from Make-A-Wish and you would be thinking, if it’s one of your kids in that situation you would like to get that support” said Ms O’Keeffe.
Make-A-Wish Ireland grant the wishes of children aged between three and seventeen years, living with life-threatening medical conditions, in order to make a difference.
