Pooches, some pampered, some scruffy, put their best paw forward to help raise thousands of Euros for Cork ARC Cancer Support House in Friar Street, Youghal.

Hundreds of dogs and their owners gathered at Greenpark in Youghal to take part in the annual Bark for Arc event.   Pets of all sizes and breeds, along with their owners, entered the 4km walk to support the Friar Street service which has become a place of hope for those with cancer and their families.  Established in Youghal in 2017, every Wednesday between 10am and 4pm, 29 Friar Street is a haven of peace and tranquillity combined with friendship reaching into the communities of West Waterford and East Cork.

Run on a voluntary basis, the service offers everything from a chat, support from Counselling Psychologists, to a variety of alternative therapies such as Reiki and Reflexology.

Final tallies are in for the event held on Sunday 9 September which raised a total of €9,200.
