Family Fun Day in Aid of Cobh Rescue Horses

By Claire O'Donoghue

On Saturday, 9 June, starting at 2pm, The Paddocks Bar Cobh is hosting a Family Fun Day in aid of Cobh Rescue Horses. The annual event is getting bigger every year and all proceeds will be donated to the fantastic voluntary work carried out by the gang at Cobh Rescue Horses. There are plenty of fun activities lined up to keep everyone entertained, including a petting zoo, candy floss machine, bouncy castle, carousel ride and much more. Of course, there will be some rescue horses on hand for you to meet, greet and fuss over too! Live music will be provided by “The Deltas”, who are sure to be a hit and can be checked performing in this weekend’s Homebirds Festival in Youghal. Hot food stalls will provide tasty treats for people to keep up their stamina for all the great activities on offer. A great day out for such a wonderful cause.
The core belief of the volunteers at Cobh Rescue Horses is the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of abused and neglected horses. To date, the group have rescued 67 horses and placed them in both foster and forever homes. Find them on Facebook for more details of the work they do and, if you would be interested in volunteering at Cobh Rescue Horses, or perhaps you have a loving home ready and willing to foster or adopt one of the horses, please contact them on 087 1763350.
