The beautiful warm sunny weather was definitely a help, but it was the superb programme of amusements and entertainment put together by the voluntary group, Youghal4All, which drew hundreds of people to the seaside town over the three days of the Moby Dick Festival. The family oriented event included Treasure Hunt, Crab Fishing competition, Duck Race, Line Dancing, Choirs, Shandon Shawlies, Set Dancing, Teddy Bears Picnic , Egg and Spoon Race, Bonnie Baby, Three Legged Race, 5K Fun Run, Dry Pain Fighting, Family Fun Quiz, Disco and the fantastic Gina, and the Ryan Phoenix Band. Bouncy Castles and Amusement Rides for the young went hand in hand with Social Dancing for Mams and Dads, Grans and Grandads, who happily waltzed and jived on the streets.
Organisers Youghal4All told Media Sponsors, The East Cork Journal, that they were delighted with the success of the entire weekend saying "There was a lot of work put into the Festival by many people, and it is really worth it all to see the large numbers enjoying it so much".
Jimmy Flanagan and Helen Heaphy, on behalf of the Committee, extended sincere thanks to all who helped them in any way over the past year and to their generous sponsors without whom the event would not have been as successful. They include Youghal Credit Union, Cork County Council, Castlemartyr Resort, Midleton Park Hotel, Flanagan Windows & Doors, Murphy's Toymaster, Munster Brewery, The Moby Dick Bar, Pat & Jason Ryan Motors, Design a Tee, and Media Sponsors Community Radio Youghal and The East Cork Journal.

THANK YOU - Youghal4All
