East Cork will be the subject of national attention next week, when Fine Gael representatives from across the country will attend the parliamentary party think-in, in Garryvoe.
The two day event is scheduled to get underway at 12:00 noon at the four star Garryvoe Hotel on Thursday 12 September.
Many attending the conference will stay on site with other government officials residing at the hotel’s sister location the Bayview Ballycotton.
Brexit, climate change, Rebuilding Ireland 2040 and the country’s economic progress is set to form much of the debate.
Taoiseach Leo Varadkar is expected to take to the stage at some point over the two days to make his state of the nation address to TD’s, Senators, Ministers and MEP’s.
The think-thank will conclude on Friday with a press conference scheduled for the afternoon
Tony Harpur from Midleton tourism office said it’s a great opportunity to showcase what the entire East Cork region has to offer.
“Garryvoe has been a centre of tourism since the early 20 century with Ballycotton being a tourist destination since 1750. They both remain popular destinations for visitors to this day.
“Anything that highlights the attractions of East Cork would of course be most welcome” he said.
