Cobh Zero Waste is happy to invite Donal O'Leary of Stop Food Waste to Cobh for an evening workshop about food waste and composting. It takes place on Wednesday, April 3rd at 7:30pm at Cobh-Great Island Community Centre (Room 8-9).
Approximately one third of food bought in Ireland is thrown out. This has both a financial and an environmental cost.
This free event will feature an introduction to the Stop Food Waste programme and explain how food waste can be prevented through planning, shopping, storage and cooking. Different methods of composting of food and garden waste will also be discussed.
The workshop is a great opportunity for households and businesses to learn these principles and reduce their running costs.
