It was fun and happy faces all around at Fr. O’Neills Juvenile Camogie Social at Garryvoe Hotel last Friday 4th of January.
Well done to Ann O’Neill and her team of trainers, mentors, texter’s and parents who put together a fab night which was a celebration of all things camogie. What a joy it was to see so many girls all gathered together in support of their club.
To the sound track of “The Greatest Show”, Ann provided a slide show of the events, games, fun days and celebrations to the assembled group. This provided great joy for the young camogie players who enjoyed seeing themselves in action on the big screen.
There is a vast amount of talent in the juvenile club, securing the future of camogie in Fr O’Neills
There was a very well received media message from club member Sarah Harrington, 2018 All Star and Captain of the All Ireland winning Intermediate Cork Team. Sarah message congratulated the club on their achievements and encouraged all present to have a great night. Sarah was unable to be present on the night due to work commitments.
We were delighted to have our own Clodagh Finn, member of the Cork 2018 U16 A Camogie Team, on the night to present medals and gifts to teams from under 7, right up to under 14.
Going forward Ann O’Neill encouraged all parents to bring their daughters to female sporting events, including of course camogie games. With the overall message of “If she can’t see it, she can’t be it.”
