Great choruses from the Desert Song, Les Miserables, the very best of Irish songs, Jazz and Blues and a tribute to Strauss will entertain a music loving audience on Sunday evening, May 13 at 8pm. This Choir Fundraising event will be held in the salubrious surroundings of the Garryvoe Hotel and will be a music lover’s treat. The East Cork Tenors will surprise and delight with their renditions of popular songs, and fun and frolics with Mick Greaney is high on the agenda of this varied programme of entertainment.
Midleton’s answer to Joseph Locke, in the person of Charlie McAlister, will join this glittering cast whilst violinists Flo Pedder Fitzgerald, Afric Prendergast and Jennifer O’Keeffe Smith will gild the lily and add to the authenticity of Strauss.
Well known accomplished Susan Mannion O’Brien will be accompanist for the evening, and will also play solo.
Tenor Frank Ryan, grandson of the legendary tenor Frank Ryan, will be joined by Waterford based Soprano Sarah O’Mahony, in popular duets, while Geraldine Landers and Tom O’Sullivan, Ballycotton will blend in songs which are sure to have everyone singing along.
Choir members will exhibit their prowess, not alone as choral singers but also as soloists with light and lilting songs to lift your hearts. Andy Jackson and Dan Sexton will also feature in this fun evening of levity and high-quality entertainment of exceptional variety. Conductor and Producer on the evening is Mary Pedder Daly.
