Glanmire Community College is renowned for its stage productions and this year is no different. Anticipation is mounting as rehearsals for this year’s musical ‘Don’t Feed the Plants’continue. ‘Don’t Feed the Plants’ is a fun, fast-paced homage to the classic B movies of the 1950s. Seymour is a hapless orphan who turns into a botanical genius when he comes across a strange and unusual plant in the local market. As Seymour discovers the plant’s rather unique appetite, his luck seems to turn and opportunities to get the girl, be famous and make a fortune soon come his way. But, at what price?
The songs come thick and fast in this hilarious musical. With influences from Motown and rock, the music is lively, lyrical and guaranteed to get the audience moving. Oh, and watch out for some unusual characters – you may never look at your dentist the same way again!
Starring Cian Pierce, Olivia Cowhie, Fintan Barry, Brandon Hurley and Kerrie Fitzgerald, supported by Nadia Condon, Ciara Leddy, Anna Morrissey, Shauna Murphy, Laura O’Driscoll, Favour Orimulosi, Ciara Stacey, Victoria Ugbodu and the students of TY.
The show runs for two nights Friday 26 and Saturday 27 January, so as always, book early to avoid disappointment. Tickets are available from the main office.
