The White Community Bus can be seen driving around in all areas of the town in Youghal. It brings the elderly and disabled to where they need to be. For many locals, it is the only way they meet with others, have a chat, and be involved with what is happening in their town. The Community Bus is run by a Voluntary Group who do not receive funding of any description from any Government Agencies or State Bodies. The only income they receive is the voluntary contributions which they receive from the people who use their service.
And they need your help!
They will be holding their Annual Bucket Collection in Youghal on Saturday next, 15 July, from 9am to 6pm at Youghal Post Office, Brooks SuperValu and other locations, and any donation you can make would be very much appreciated.
Youghal Community Bus is much more than a means of transport. It is a friend to those who do not, or cannot drive; to those who live alone; to those who need to visit a Doctor or Dentist and then return home; to Nans and Granddads who cannot walk up or down the hills on which Youghal is built.
It is a vital service which many people in Youghal will need in the future, and its continuation depends on your generosity.
Please give what you can to help keep the wheels turning for the disabled and older people of the town.
