Inch village is holding its annual Community Festival from 10 – 22 September to raise vital funds for the development of the village hall amenity.
Over the past number of years the hardworking Committee has undertaken major improvements in the Community Centre at a cost of €150,000.
These works include an Extension with foyer, kitchen, stores and disabled toilet and associated infrastructure works including a septic tank treatment unit, new internal furnishings and improvements to the area surrounding the Centre.
Most events take place in the evening throughout the Festival.
The first event will be held on Tuesday 10 September with an adult Table Quiz in Power’s Bar, followed by Bingo in Inch Community Centre on Wednesday 11 September.
On Friday, 13 September a junior Table Quiz will be held in the Parish Hall at 7:30pm with a Car Treasure Hunt taking place on Sunday, 15 September starting at 2:30pm at the Community Centre.
Thursday, 19 September will see a fundraising Flower Demonstration held in the Community Hall at 8:00pm.
The curtain will come down on the 2019 event with a Family Day of Entertainment at 2:00pm Sunda,y 22 September.
The finale includes BBQ, Fancy Dress, Children’s Colouring competition and numerous side shows.
Festival organisers say the event is of vital importance to the development of the area.
“The costs associated with the [Centre] improvements are outside of the everyday running costs of the Community Centre. These expenses include Insurances, ESB, Gas and Maintenance, all of which are increasing at an alarming rate.”
A Monster Raffle will also run alongside the Festival events, and Committee members will be calling to residents over the coming days.
