The Midleton/Carrigtwohill Red Cross (Health and Social Care) accepted a donation from Knockgriffin Community Enterprise this past Wednesday, 19 July.
Mike Bolger, Secretary of Knockgriffin Community Enterprise presented the cheque to Ber Cotter, Health and Social Care Officer at Midleton Red Cross who was delighted to promote the Health and Social Care Unit within the Midleton/Carrigtwohill area.
Joining Ms Collins in representing the Midleton/Carrigtwohill Red Cross were the branch’s Chairperson Maura Milton and unit members Fiona Browne and Dean Fitzgerald.
“On behalf of the Midleton/Carrigtwohill Red Cross,” said Ms Milton, “I would like to thank Mike Bolger and the Knockgriffin Community Enterprise for their kind donation.”
The Health and Social Care service is to benefit worthy causes in the community; recently it provided free medical cover at a fundraising event for Cian’s Care, the trust set up to fundraiser towards cancer treatment for Ballinacurra student Cian Twomey.
In the coming months the service will work with local organisations and provide courses and talks to benefit the community.
