Jason Foley of Midleton CBS is one of the stars of the ‘Panto’ at Cork Opera House this Christmas.
The 5th Class pupil is a part of the cast for the ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’ production, which is running until Sunday 21 January. A member of Billie Jean’s East Cork Stage School, Jason also starred in last year’s performance of ‘Cinderella’ at the Opera House. This time around, the East Cork native is playing the part of ‘Giggleo’ in the Christmas pantomime.
Speaking to the East Cork Journal, Mary Cunningham, Principal of the Midleton CBS, said; ‘‘We have a great association with pantomime in this school. Jason is currently starring at the Opera House. He is one of the seven dwarfs. This is his second year performing there. We also had the annual visit of the West Midlands Children’s Theatre Company on Monday. They have been coming to us for the last five years to perform small pantomime for the children. We have had Jack and the Beanstalk and various traditional pantomime stories. On Monday, the pantomime was Dick Whittington. We have all our school shows later on in the year then. So, there is a great tradition of pantomime here.’’
