Midleton College Team Up with St. Vincent’s Secondary School to Raise Funds for the Mercy Hospital and Kieran O’ Connor Fund

The TY Students of German of Midleton College and St. Vincent’s Secondary School, Cork, together with their teachers Melanie Henry and Deirdre Twomey hosted a multimedia quiz on German language and culture this Monday. After months of preparation and collaboration the TY students finally could show cast their work.

Prizes were kindly donated by the German and Austrian Embassies, the Goethe Institut, Siemens, the Post Primary Language Initiative and Lidl Midleton with proceeds of the quiz going to the Mercy Hospital and Kieran O’Connor Fund.

The quiz was attended by TY pupils from all Midleton secondary schools CBS Midleton, St. Colman’s Community School and St. Mary’s High School, as well as by schools from Cork, Kanturk and Youghal. It was a tight competition with Team 9 from St. Colman’s Community College, Midleton taking First Place. Ashton Comprehensive School and Pobalscoil na Tríonóide were close runner ups.
