The Irish Heart Foundation’s Happy Hearts Day underwent its Midleton launch this past Tuesday, 25 April.
Paddy O’Brien, a retired regional manager of the Irish Heart Foundation, was present at Wallis’ Bar, Midleton to launch the future Midleton contribution to the Irish Heart Foundation as part of this year’s Happy Hearts appeal on 12 May. Heart-shaped pins will be on sale with donations accepted throughout the day.
Midleton will be one of the locations around Ireland taking part in the Happy Hearts appeal which aims to raise €500,000 so the Irish Heart Foundation can continue to provide essential CPR training to every community in Ireland.
Early CPR in a suitable medical emergency such as cardiac arrest can double or triple the victim’s chance of survival. For every minute without CPR or defibrillation that passes by the victim’s chance of survival falls by 10%.
