Midleton Wren Day Benefits East Cork Rapid Response

Imokilly – Midleton Branch of Comhaltas Ceoltoirí Eireann presented a cheque for €800 to the East Cork Rapid Response on Tuesday, 5 March at their weekly meeting in St.Brigid’s NS. The funds were raised by members of the Branch, both young and old, which was raised from their performances in and around the locality on 26 December as part of the old Wren Day tradition.

Tom Casey, Chairman of the local Comhaltas Branch said, “We received a warm welcome and generous response to the collection from members of the public. We all thoroughly enjoyed the day out and look forward to keeping the Wren Day tradition alive each year. East Cork Rapid Response expressed their appreciation for the donation, and offered their sincere thanks to all involved.”

In preparation for the St.Patrick’s Day celebrations, the Under 15s members will be having a session in Midleton GAA this Friday, 14 March at 8.30pm. All are welcome to come along and enjoy the craic and have a go around the floor if the mood strikes!
