The doors were opened wide, the ribbon was cut and Youghal's Clock Gate Tower was officially launched on Thursday last, March 2nd, as a unique visitor attraction in the East Cork seaside town.

Dating from 1777 the revamped tower now includes a permanent interpretative exhibition, costumed storytellers, storyboards and audio-visual elements which tell a story that goes back over 600 years. The building is set over four floors of the tower and visitors can enjoy four different eras of time, including a medieval merchant’s dwelling, an 18th-century gaol, a ‘time keeping floor’ and the former family home of the McGrath family, who still reside in the town.
