Sunday morning, 2 September  got off to a miserable start with the rain pouring down, but despite that it still didn’t stop Killeagh Community coming together and a crowd gathered in the Community Hall to enjoy a wonderful BBQ organised by Rosemarie Grant, Isabelle McCarthy , Emer Hannigan and Grainne McGregor on behalf of Killeagh Scouts.

All produce for the BBQ was donated by local businesses as was 16 lovely prizes for the raffle held on the day.  Tea and delicious cakes were also available on the day donated by family and friends of Killeagh Scouts, a variety of activities inside the hall kept the children entertained thanks to local businesses donating their time and services such as Beáta’s Braided Hair Styles, Greywood provided a Mural, and a local girl Orla done Facepaints for the Children. Emer Hannigan told the East Cork Journal “the Support from the Community has been amazing, enormous work has been done by all organising the BBQ and Grainne McGregor is responsible for alot of it, there has been a great turn out all day despite the weather and on behalf of all the organisers we would like to say a huge thanks for all the donations, to all our Sponsors, family, friends, the Hall Committee members, Scouts and all those who participated in making the day a great success”.
