At the Launch of East Cork's Got Talent 2018 were Event Organiser and MC, Fanta aka Mark O'Sullivan, with Amy Horgan, Janice McConnell (General Manager) and Aishling Lambe of the Midleton Park Hotel.

The 2018 edition of East Cork’s Got Talent was launched at the Midleton Park Hotel on Tuesday last, and the event organiser, Fanta (aka Mark O’Sullivan), is calling on the people of the area and beyond to come out and support the event.
Auditions for the talent show – open to everyone between the ages of ten and 100 - will be held between 12 noon and 4pm, on Sunday 18 March, at the Midleton Park Hotel. Singers, musicians, dancers and magicians are asked to come along and showcase their talents, in front of a panel of five celebrity judges. 12 Contestants will then be selected, on the day, to contest the Grand Final, which will be held on Saturday 31 March, at the same venue. All proceeds of the event are in aid of Down Syndrome Cork.
Speaking at the launch in midweek, Fanta said; ‘‘Every penny we make goes to Down Syndrome Cork – it’s their ball – for the third year in a row. I must say thanks to the Midleton Park Hotel as well, it is their third year hosting it. There will be of a lot of surprises on the night. The amount of bookings for tickets, already, it is something else. The first four hundred people who get tickets are the ones who can go and that’s it, it’s full after that. I’d advise people to get their tickets now, as they’ll sell-out fast.’’
Since 2009, Fanta has raised a whopping €193,000 for charities such as Marymount Hospice, the Irish Kidney Association, Down Syndrome Cork and other worthy causes, through events such as spinathons and talent shows. This year’s version of East Cork’s Got Talent could take Fanta to the €200,000 mark for fundraising – and he’s determined to make it yet another event to remember.
Among the judges are Irish Olympians Rob and Marian Heffernan, fashion blogger and designer Material Boy, model Pat Vogue Walker and singer Jamie Stanton. There’s €500 on offer to the winner of ECGT, €250 for the runner-up and €150 for the third placed contestant.
Joining Fanta on the night will be co-host Ethel O’Connor, photographer Erich Stack and music will be provided by DJ Killian. Tickets are priced at just €10 and are on sale from Friday 8 December. For bookings contact Fanta on 086 396 3263.
