Santa Claus has arranged a lift from Ballycotton Lifeboat and will be greeting parents and children on Ballycotton Pier on Saturday, 8 December from 3pm – 6pm. No doubt, he will be reviewing his naughty and nice list and advising accordingly! Children will be invited to talk to the big man himself in the cabin on board the Lifeboat, and each child will be given a small Christmas present which has been kindly sponsored by SuperValu Midleton.
Speaking with Jerry Lynch (Chairperson of the Ballycotton Development Group), he said, “This is our 4th year welcoming Santa on the Ballycotton Lifeboat. It’s always a lovely, magical event for the children and they get very excited waiting to spot his approach. We have been very lucky each year with regards weather but I’d like to remind everyone that any event which takes place on the pier is heavily dependent on favourable weather and tidal conditions – even for Santa! Please check with the Ballycotton Lifeboat Facebook Page for any updates.”
The Ballycotton Development Group will be serving tea, coffee and mulled wine to banish any chill in your festive spirit, and Christmas lights will turned on during the event. Again, organisers would like to stress that everything is weather dependant and subject to change.
There will also be an RNLI bucket for anyone who would like to make a donation to a very worthy, local cause this Christmas.
