For the third year in a row Scoil Bhride in Midleton is home to the top athletes in the county.
Last Thursday, 1 June the 625 pupil school retained its first division title at the Cork City Sports held at the Cork Institute of Technology.
This is the third year of the games being held on the institute’s campus, historically the event was held at Páirc Ui Chaoimh. Due to the redevelopment of the stadium the meet was relocated to CIT.
Principal Sile Murphy said she was proud of her student’s success.
“We are very proud of our very talented students, their hard work and commitment. To win is a huge thing.”
The students received a rousing welcome home when news of their achievement broke.
Students and teachers formed a guard of honour cheering wildly as the students made it off the bus and back into school with their silverware.
The school had three first places and a third place in the sprints. They were second in the relay and were also crowned overall 1st division winners.
